About myself: Born and raised not far from Lexington, I graduated from Franklin County High School and then went on to Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond. Lexington has become my home, and I have had the incredible privilege of raising my two children here. I am dedicated to giving a voice to underserved communities. In recognition of my humanitarian work, I was honored with an honorary doctorate from the University of Kentucky in 2018. I am also the founder of RadioLex, a public radio station that broadcasts in both English and Spanish. Additionally, I have a passion for gardening and plant a new garden at my office every year. My favorite pastime is spooking my Good Neighbors on Halloween!
